FINANCE ACCOUNTANT

The Role
The Finance area of our customer is growing and now looking for an Asset Accountant to join the Accounting Operations team in Copenhagen.
This is a key position within the Accounting Operations Teams and a great opportunity for an experienced, motivated, and ambitious accounting professional. You will be working in a highly motivated team of experienced finance professionals in an organization where we value innovation, determination, integrity, and teamwork.
We are looking for candidates who will be able to combine a hands-on approach to the daily accounting activities while at the same time have the ability to work strategically and holistically with the financials.
This position reports to the Associate Director, Accounting Europe based in Copenhagen, and you will be part of a large Global Finance team.
Responsibilities
•Account accurately for Fixed assets, create reclasses, make sure the assets are in the right class/category; etc
•Together with the Fixed Assets specialist, prepare plans for assets counting, asset recons and any other task as required relating Fixed Assets
•Follow closing procedures and help a smooth process on monthly basis for the areas under responsibility
•Ensure accruals/reclasses/corrections are booked correctly on monthly basis
•Participate in internal and external audit reviews as needed, and fulfill audit data requests
•Perform global accounting procedures for specified technical areas, which will be assigned on a rotational basis
•Prepare high level designated account reconciliations and analysis
•Closely follow up on the open items and ensure to have clean recons on continuous basis
•Ensure governmental statistical reporting requirements are met
•Support the Fixed Asset Specialist / Associate Director with several account analysis, equity changes understanding and reconciliation, as well as creating simplified financial statements for internal use purposes
Requirements
Moreover, you meet the following professional requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience
• Excellent knowledge and understanding of English
• Good experience and understanding of Fixed Assets rules and Accounting in general
• Proven experience working in teams
• Ability to work successfully under pressure in a fast-paced environment and with tight timelines
• Ability to be proactive, enthusiastic and goal orientated
• A team player with demonstrated ability to collaborate with a diverse group of internal and external stakeholders
• Strong communication skills - both oral and written
